Number 14: Nearing the End of This Trip

Like the title says, this won't be my last time in Africa. I don't think. I'm convinced that God will bring me back! And I'm so thankful for that!

I haven't written this post out, so I'm not quite sure what I'm going to say....

I'm going to start with a prayer request for me. During this trip God has completely rocked what I thought I was going to do.....with life in general. Please pray that as I follow what I think He's told me, that He will continue to confirm as I obey. THANK YOU!!

Last Friday we finished out camp in Atteridgeville. It was pretty great, but VERY different from Mamelodi. Just an entirely different atmosphere! But God did some amazing things in the team that was here, so that's very exciting! I also helped lead Celebration with a guy named Jordan. As I'm sure you know, I don't really do the whole singing in front of people thing. So leading that was a stretch for me, but I'm glad I did it. It was so so so much fun!

I don't really have too much news right now. We have another team in, and they're great!! It's a team from the Kinsley's town in Mississippi. I love them so much!! It's a college team and God's really put some amazing people on the team that I click with!

Sorry, I'm fairly scatterbrained right now!

I'll tell you a little bit about what God's showing me.

Esther 4.13-14

Esther was royal. The best everything life had to offer was hers. Sounds like Americans to me.

American Christians are living in a successful country surrounded by all life has to offer pretty much. But just as Esther's people were under threat, my people are as well.

All over the world, people are killed or tortured for loving Jesus. Just this past week in Zimbabwe, a family had the riot police pull up to their house. They hadn't done anything wrong. It was a couple with children. The police said their house was "too close to the airport". They bulldozed their house without letting them get anything out. They lost everything for no reason. Zimbabwe is at a Level 7 now. Level 8 means that genocide has already happened. We are under attack. WAKE UP!! People live every day not knowing if it'll be their last.

We are Esther. We are, in the world's eyes especially, the "rich" ones (see previous blog). We have the resources to help. But do we?

God will defend His people. It's who He is. He wants to use us, but He can do it another way. We, in my opinion, will be judged on if we surrendered our lives for the Lord's use.

Like Mordecai told Ester, "And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?" Who knows if America hasn't been blessed in order to bless others? In this time we are in a position of influence and affluence.

What are we going to do with it?

Hope that made sense.

Please pray for safe travels. I'll get home Sunday night. So check this blog Tuesday or Wednesday for a link to all my pictures!! :)

Oh man! How American Christians have been blessed! If we waste it, or selfishly blow it on our own wants, how will He hold us accountable? How can He not? Wonderful thoughts and insights. Thanks.

We’re praying for you and by the time you read this I will probably have had a chance to hug your neck! Love you and look forward to hearing more of the stretching and what God’s going to do with it.
